The display is great. Time is not correct. The sound of the buzzer is not natural. Replacing the DS1307 as shown in the attached photo will improve the time and buzzer sound.

I purchased two of these to assemble with me children. We got the first one together and it seems to display and cycle as advertised. One thing people will want to be aware of is that the Temperature is in Celsius and can not be changed. So if your living where Fahrenheit is the standard, be ready to do some quick conversions in your head. If I had access to the code, am pretty sure I could fix this one pretty quickly. LEDs are bright, and the boards are well laid out for and assembly. The CR1220 is kind of an odd choice for a backup battery as it is not in most peoples stockpile of spares. So while your waiting on your kit to arrive, hop on your favorite battery site and order one or two. Most of the SMD components have 1 or two spares in the kit. So don't freak out if you happen to drop an LED or you have to replace one after you get things powered up. We do have one problem with our first one we put together, and that is that the clock itself seems to be running 3x slow. Which results in very quick clock skew. Unfortunately I do not have a working oscilloscope to check if it's the oscillator (Crystal) or not. We are going to put together the second one and see if we see similar results. (Possibly the wrong crystal was packaged, not sure as it was not marked with a part number). We had a lot of fun with these so far, and my 10 year old has gotten a lot of practice soldering SMD components. Proud of how quickly she has caught on to it.
